  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • 5 lbs russet potatoes peeled and diced
  • 1 onion diced
  • 2 large cans cream of mushroom soup
  • 2 cups cheese shredded American or sharp cheddar
  • mushrooms fresh or canned, optional
  • garlic salt
  • pepper


  • Pre-heat oven to 425°F.
  • Season and brown hamburger with garlic salt and pepper. Drain the hamburger.
  • Mix all the ingredients (except cheese) together in an oven safe pan. Add additional garlic salt and pepper.
  • Bake in the oven for 40 minutes, remove, and stir.
  • Bake an additional 20-30 minutes or until potatoes are tender.
  • Top with cheese and bake until desired browning is reached.
