French Toast with Bananas and Walnuts

Ingredients
  

  • 8 slices bread 1" thick
  • 4 large eggs beaten
  • ½ cup milk
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup warmed
  • 2 bananas sliced
  • ¼ cup walnuts chopped

Instructions
 

  • Preheat griddle to medium high heat.
  • Whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a shallow dish.
  • Dip banana bread slices in the egg mixture, coating both sides. Do not soak in dish.
  • Spray griddle with non-stick cooking spray and fry slices until golden brown on both sides.
  • Serve with warm maple syrup, banana slices, and chopped walnuts.
